CODENOMICON DEFENSICS 3.0 RECEIVES THE 2008 GLOBAL FROST & SULLIVAN AWARD FOR PRODUCT OF THE YEAR
SAN JOSE, Calif. and OULU, Finland - May 28, 2008 - Frost & Sullivan recognizes Codenomicon Ltd. with the 2008 Global Frost & Sullivan Award for Product of the Year. Codenomicon's DEFENSICS 3.0, the newest version of the company's flagship software-based test platform, will be honored as this year's best product in the security test market at the Frost & Sullivan Awards Ceremony on June 11 in San Diego, California.
DEFENSICS 3.0 provides security testing for Internet, wireless and digital media systems. The platform delivers fast test execution, a critical advantage needed by end users in security test applications.
According to Frost & Sullivan, its Product of the Year Award recipient demonstrates excellence in new product development within its industry. The award recognizes innovation through the launch of a broad line of emerging products and technologies.
"We designed DEFENSICS from the ground-up to make it easier to use and, at the same time, we focused on making it expose and fix more flaws and test more types of products and services than any other security test product available," said Ari Takanen, Codenomicon co-founder and chief technology officer. "This award from Frost & Sullivan clearly shows we achieved all of those objectives with DEFENSICS 3.0, providing critical value for our customers."
Codenomicon's product is a highly effective black box test solution for developers, service providers and enterprises that aim to reduce security exposure and system failure risks in their applications, devices and services. The platform tests more than 140 network protocols, digital media formats and wireless interfaces. It can locate quality, resiliency and security exposures quickly within various applications.
"The capability to identify and fix security flaws and quality issues preemptively is among DEFENSICS 3.0's most important business-related benefits," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Jessy Cavazos. "Also, the inclusion of automated, ready-made tests removes the need for end users to learn new frameworks or to design tests from scratch."
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis and extensive secondary research in order to identify best practices in the industry.
