Codenomicon Celebrating 10 Years of Excellence in Ensuring Security and Quality

In October 2001, project called Protos in Oulu University came to an end. A group of security researchers from the computer engineering lab had worked to develop automated testing tools to proactively improve the quality and security of software. The results of that project had been so impressive, that five members of the original research group made a bold move, and decided to start their own spin-off company. The company became known as Codenomicon.
Today Codenomicon, a world-renowned vendor of proactive security products, is celebrating its 10th anniversary.
To mark the occasion, Codenomicon organized the very first CodenomiCON Europe, a fuzzing seminar that gathered the leading European security testing experts under one roof. While autumn storm raged outside, in the conference room it was warm and cozy - too warm, even. Brilliant guest speakers and panelists from leading industry experts such as Cisco Systems, Ericsson, T-Systems and Orange, and their informative and inspiring presentations made the conference a huge success. The conference was followed by an exclusive invite only evening gala where Codenomicon employees, customers and partners got together to enjoy good food and excellent company.
As our society increasingly depends on interconnected and complex software based infrastructure, there will be no shortages of critical environments and systems that need to be protected. In presence of advanced persistent threat (APT), it is even more important for vulnerabilities to be proactively discovered and managed. Codenomicon will continue to be here for decades to come, providing tools for mitigating vulnerabilities and improving the quality and security of business critical software implementations.
