We are looking for a skilled technical expert with strong customer focus for the position of:

SALES ENGINEER, Washington DC area


Job Purpose

As a Sales Engineer, you will provide world-class technical support to our customers and sales team in the United States. Servicing mostly the East Coast with occasional West Coast and Canada support as needed. If you have a passion for interacting with diverse customers and managing a wide variety of technical tasks independently, this is the job for you. Previous experience in networking technologies and/or working with customers in software security is a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing technical sales support
  • Participation in major sales cases and key account planning
  • Planning and performing software testing services, security audits, demos and training assignments for customers
  • Providing pre- and post-sales support
  • Developing automation, scripting and visualizations for existing customers
  • Training end users on how to get started with software
  • Troubleshooting technical issues together with customers
  • Configuring testing environments and scripting test automation frameworks

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's/Bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in software development, application engineering, network security or customer support

Technical Skills

  • Experience with as many network protocols as possible, ability to understand new protocols and specifications easily
  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Perl, Tcl, Ruby, shell scripts)
  • Proficient in the use of Unix/Linux and Windows systems, preferably with some systems administration background
  • Ability to use common network analysis tools: Wireshark, Nmap, tcpdump, nc
  • Ability to use common Unix command-line tools: make, Emacs/vi, CVS, RCS, grep
  • Hands-on experience in configuring network equipment: routers, switches, VPN devices, VoIP systems, firewalls, proxies, server and client software
